About

Avery Slezak is an illustrator, book artist, paper engineer, and designer based in Brooklyn, NY. She makes bold and graphic illustrations about a range of topics surrounding the absurdism of being a person alive today. She hopes to make people question their own assumptions with her work. She is invested in the realms of editorial illustration, publishing, zines, experimental books, and other cool and interesting things.

She is also a co-founder of super professional press, an independent publishing initiative surrounding her and her collaborators love of risograph printing.

Avery went to Pratt Institute and received her BFA in Communications Design with an emphasis in Illustration with a minor in Book Arts.
