Rupture

My undergrad senior thesis. A carousel artist book with pop-up elements all about becoming disillusioned by organized religion. It is a rebuttal to the idea that “everything happens for a reason” and that fate is controlled by a Creator, a God, or the Universe. It supports the idea that we are responsible for the destruction of the planet, the religious rules we create for each other, the violence we commit against each other, and that nothing happens for a reason.

It is based on my personal experience growing up in the Catholic Church and then leaving as an adult. It includes visual references to Catholicism as well as concepts from Greek mythology, Egyptian mythology, anatomy, nature, and climate change.
